Refund & Cancellation Policy

This policy describes how Outlyo subscriptions and credits work, when and how you can cancel, and how refund requests are handled. Payments are processed by Dodo Payments as the Merchant of Record; their terms apply to each transaction.

1. Subscriptions & Auto-Renewal
Outlyo subscriptions (monthly or annual) renew automatically at the end of each billing period. Your payment method on file will be charged at the start of each new period unless you cancel before the renewal date.
You will receive a renewal reminder email before each billing date so you have an opportunity to review your plan and cancel if needed.
2. Cancellation
You can cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings (“Billing & Plan” section). You can also email support@outlyo.com and we will process the cancellation for you.
Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. You will retain full access to the Service — including any credits in your account — until that date. You will not be charged again after cancellation.
We do not offer prorated refunds for the remainder of a billing period when you cancel mid-cycle, except in the specific circumstances described below.
3. Free Plan
Every new account starts on the free plan, which includes a monthly allowance of credits (currently 1,500) at no cost and with no payment method required. The free plan lets you evaluate Outlyo before deciding to upgrade to a paid plan.
Upgrading to a paid plan is an explicit, deliberate action. We do not auto-convert free accounts into paid subscriptions, and we do not charge you unless you choose a paid plan and complete checkout.
4. Credits
Credits are consumed each time you perform a billable action within Outlyo (such as generating video ideas or writing a script). Because credits are used immediately upon performing an action, consumed credits are not refundable.
Unused credits that are part of your current subscription period may carry into the following period depending on your plan. Credits purchased as one-off add-ons expire as stated at the time of purchase and are not refundable once expired.
If a technical error on our side causes credits to be deducted incorrectly, please contact us and we will investigate and restore any credits that were consumed in error.
5. Refund Requests
Because Outlyo runs paid AI compute (Anthropic Claude and OpenAI GPT) on every credit you spend, we cannot refund credits that have already been used. To keep the policy fair on both sides, refunds work on a 20% usage rule:
- Eligible: you request a refund within 7 days of the charge AND you have used less than 20% of the credits granted by that billing period.
- Not eligible:you have used 20% or more of the period’s credits, OR the request is made more than 7 days after the charge.
We also process a full refund in these situations regardless of usage:
- A billing error resulted in a duplicate or incorrect charge.
- A significant service outage on our part prevented you from using the Service for a meaningful portion of your billing period.
Annual subscriptions follow the same 20% rule, measured against the annual credit allowance, and must be requested within 7 days of the renewal charge.
Every account starts free with a monthly credit allowance precisely so you can evaluate Outlyo before committing to a paid plan. If you are unsure whether Outlyo is the right fit, please use the free plan first.
6. How to Request a Refund
To request a refund:
- Email support@outlyo.com from the email address associated with your Outlyo account.
- Include the subject line “Refund Request” and provide: your account email, the approximate date of the charge, the amount, and a brief reason for the request.
- We will review your request and respond within 3–5 business days.
If a refund is approved, it will be processed through Dodo Payments back to your original payment method. Processing times vary by payment method and bank, but typically take 5–10 business days to appear on your statement.
7. Chargebacks
We ask that you contact us at support@outlyo.com before initiating a chargeback with your card issuer or bank. Most billing disputes can be resolved quickly and directly.
If a chargeback is filed without first contacting us, we reserve the right to suspend the associated account pending resolution of the dispute, and to provide transaction evidence to Dodo Payments and your financial institution as part of the chargeback process.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
